We are so happy for our Associate Art Director, Tassa LeBarre (now Tassa Burdette), who just got married in Hawaii! And being the hip, tech savvy and thoughtful person she is, she even provided a streaming live video of the ceremony for those of us that couldn’t make it. Ive never attended a wedding in sweat pants until now.

We are excited to share that we won another video award! We won an Award of Excellence for Creativity/Use of Special Effects/Animation from the Videographer Awards for our video, The Future of Video, we created for Cisco. This is a great achievement for an amazing video we created last summer. And by amazing, we mean not only amazing visually, but amazing how it came together. We were given a big challenge in that the CTO, Padmasree Warrior, the narrator and star of our video, was only available for 1 hour to shoot all of her scenes. Due to the limited time we shot her and all talent in a green room and all of the outdoor background plate footage in two days. All compositing and special effects were added in the following month of post production work. Take a look!

Guerilla marketing was invented as an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget (thanks wikipedia). It has a “taking it to the streets” tactic that grabs peoples attention or engages people directly. Most often it consists of interactive displays or oversize 3D billboard/components, really anything to catch attention and generate buzz either through viral videos or word of mouth.

Tom Havorford, from the hit NBC show Parks and Rec broke down a genius word of mouth scheme to sell Snake Juice, his intoxicating and Im sure delicious drink. Laugh while you learn.

This movie looks like “marketing inception”. Kind of mind blowing…its a movie about marketing and product placement covered in and by marketing and product placement. Im so intrigued!I I really want to see this, but part of me is worried I may somehow get brainwashed and buy 3 Slurpees, a Chalupa, and a pair of Nikes on my way home before I wake up realize what happened.

Hugh sent out an email to the team this morning that a card that we just printed was incorrect (or really that the 2D code we printed on it wasn’t pointing to the right website). He got us pretty good, and we have to give him credit for his detailed effort of creating the botched card with broken 2D code and finding its corresponding April Fools website. Good way to start a Friday!
